My son MADE this in Sunday School:
The star on the little frame that says "Patience" is his Fruit of the Spirit for the New Year. Our entire congregation chooses a star from a basket without looking. All nine fruits are respresented on cut out stars in the baskets. They baskets are blessed and then we each choose a star - that is to be our focus for the new year. Jonah chose "patience". I chose "love". Michael chose "peace". Maeryn chose "self-control."
The reason for this post, however, is not to explain Star Sunday, but rather to brag on my little guy for constructing this masterpiece from graham crackers, vanilla icing, and ice cream cones with the help of some assorted candies. He's amazing :-)
My favorite part is the licorice door, which you can see in the photo below.
Happy New Year everyone!
May it be a blessed one chock full of your own special adventures with those you hold dear.

PS - Many thanks to our amazing Sunday School teacher, Summer, who came up with the idea for the gingerbread castles and mounting the stars for the children. She rocks!
