Lacking in Photos.

I know that pictures are really important to holding the interest of readers in blogs, but the fact is, I just haven't been motivated to take pictures since taking this next step on our unschooling journey.

I'm not sure why that is.

Maybe it feels contrived.

It's strange.  My whole life feels sort of... not real since Monday.

I can't really believe that this is actually happening for our family.  That Jonah is home.

The last three days have been...  fantastic.

I know that not every day will be fantastic.  I know that there will be days when things are hard.  Maybe today will be one of those days.  Maybe not.  But the changes I already see in my son make this whole thing SO worth it.

There are lots of things that I already know I want to get for our house.  We'll have to do everything really gradually to keep our budget in check, but just in the last three days, here are some things I'd like to have:

-  outdoor thermometer
-  rain gauge  (I'm aware that we could make this.)
-  magnetic paint for several spaces in the house
-  chalkboard paint for several spaces in the house
-  a white board for the wall coming up the stairs from the basement
-  poetry books for kids with silly and age appropriate poetry
-  many more computer games
-  many more DVDs
-  the RV (lol)

Those are just a few.  I've been finding free ways to do lots of other things.

Last night Michael and Jonah made a volcano with baking soda and vinegar at Jonah's request.  The used homemade playdough to make the mountain.  Jonah was SO excited about what he was doing.  Maeryn is LOVING having Jonah home, and they are doing great about giving one another space to Be.

I'm EXHAUSTED.  It's a good exhaustion, but anyone who says unschooling is synonymous with "unparenting" is insane.  I'm beat at the end of the day - even with copious amounts of caffeinated green tea.

If you don't mind that the white board isn't white, I may have one that I could send to you. It's big-ish and magnetic as well as writable. It's been a while since I looked at it so it may have a small strip of tack board as well, but maybe not.

If you need age appropriate poetry books, I'm 100% sure I can hook you up with a few freebies from my job. Let me know on facebook or something, okay?

A more specific list, maybe?

Or how about an Amazon wishlist for the Bell Family School?

Hey, Christmas is coming and even with The Advent Conspiracy, I'm sure a few things to help the homeschool endeavor are not out of bounds ;-)
